How can we improve the success of Communities of Practice?

Last year about 15 CoPs are started bottom-up. We have a CoP support team that stays in touch with the CoP-leaders. We have e.g. set-up a CoP life cycle and a CoP charter with questions for the CoP about their scope and organisational aspects. Now we want to evaluate the CoPs and also learn what success there are.

Do you have advice on how we, as the CoP support team, can support the CoPs in their success?
