KM definition

by Fatma
(Kuwait )

Knowledge management:
Knowledge management is not a new concept. Philosophers did write about it for thousands of years, but the relationship between knowledge management and work in organizations is the new concept.
I believe that knowledge management is an organized process that leads to have access to people with knowledge to benefit from them in a systematic way and not to leave this vital process to a chance, in order to achieve current objectives and to initiate future developments for the organization.

A good pragmatic km definition
by: Ron Young

Hi Fatma

I like this definition, especially the point about a systematic process, otherwise, organizations are leaving it to chance, which really is not a very good idea in this age of increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Thanks
